Loud sound of explosion heard in Padder, IAF rules out any crash of fighter jet, for now

JAMMU, April 24:
Locals claimed that on Friday evening they heard a loud sound of explosion followed by a thick smoke billowing out of snow clad mountain in Padder area of Kishtwar suggesting it to be an incident of IAF’s jet crash.
However, an IAF spokespersons has denied any crash in the area.
Locals claimed that they saw two fighter jets hovering above Padder area and within no time heard a loud sound of explosion billowing out of a snow clad hill.
“We also saw a trail of thick exhaust smoke in the skyline and then smoke billowing out of the hill,” said Amir Khan, a local.
Another local Fayaz Ahmed said that he saw smoke and trees on fire in the impact area.
“I am not sure what has happened but there is fire and smoke in the area,” he said.

“There are certain media outlets and SM handles claiming an IAF aircraft has crashed near Kishtwar. This report is false,” a spokesperson for the Indian Air Force said in a statement.
The spokesperson further stated, “All media outlets are requested to verify information from official sources before publishing/transmitting.”
