Construction work of 2-lane ROB begins at Railway Crossing in Vijaypur

In a significant initiative to make traffic smooth and safe in the Vijaypur area of Jammu Division, the construction work of the proposed 2-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Railway Level Crossing No. S-51 commenced today.
On this occasion, Member of Parliament, Jammu Lok Sabha constituency, Jugal Kishore Sharma was present as the chief guest, along with MLA Surjit Singh Slathia who was present as the special guest. On this occasion, senior railway officers of Jammu Division, officers of Samba District Administration and a large number of local citizens were also present.
This railway crossing is an extremely busy crossing of Vijaypur, where due to frequent closure of the gate for movement of trains during the day, traffic jams for hours occur, causing great difficulty to school children, patients and the general public. For a permanent solution to this problem, this ROB has been sanctioned by the Ministry of Railways.
The total length of this ROB will be approximately 860 meters and average width will be 9 meters, which will allow smooth movement of two-lane traffic. Its construction will directly benefit the Vijaypur-Samba region. The traffic jam at the railway crossing will be completely eliminated, the possibility of accidents at the crossing will end, time and fuel will be saved and connectivity with the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway will become smoother, faster and safer.
On this occasion, Hon’ble MP Shri Jugal Kishore Sharma said, “This flyover was a long-standing demand of the people of Vijaypur, the construction work of which has started from today. It will realize the Central Government’s vision of an accessible, safe and developed India.”
Jammu Division, Northern Railway is committed to the safety and convenience of the general public and is striving to complete the construction work of this ROB in a quality manner within the stipulated time frame.
