J&K High Court Bar Assn hosts former judges, honour members elevated to Bench

Jammu The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association Jammu, on Friday, solemnly unveiled a commemorative board listing the names of retired High Court Judges, who were the members of the Association and reached to the highest court from the District Judiciary. The board was unveiled by Chief Justice (Acting) Sanjeev Kumar in presence of his companion Judges, retired judges and Office Bearers of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association in presence of battery of lawyers.

Justice Puneet Gupta (Retd.) and Justice Vinod Chaterjee Koul (Retd.) attended the event.

President of the association, Sr. Adv. K. Nirmal Kotwal addressed the gathering and while speaking thanked the members for their support in taking this initiative. He highlighted the unique perspective judges bring to the Bench after distinguished careers at the Bar and expressed gratitude for their service to the judiciary and society.

Chief Justice (Acting) Sanjeev Kumar also addressed the gathering, offering remarks on the enduring bond between the Bar and Bench and while cherishing his memories at the Bar, shared them with the members.

The proceedings were conducted by General Secretary Adv. Pardeep Majotra. Joint Secretary Anshu Mahajan presented the formal vote of thanks, in presence of Treasurer Rahul Aggarwal, office bearers of the Young Lawyers Association, senior designated advocates, young advocates, and other members of the Bar .

The unveiling of the board is part of JKHCBAJ’s ongoing efforts to honor the legacy of legal luminaries who began their careers at the Bar and later served on the Bench. The board will stand as an inspiration for future generations of lawyers.
