It is pertinent to mention here that illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar including Rohingya Muslims illegally enter into India through West Bengal and Assam and then guides help them reach Muslim majority Jammu and Kashmir.

It has been officially recorded that several such illegal immigrants have fraudulently obtained domicile certificates, Aadhar cards, ration cards and in some cases have married native Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir.

Security forces see them as a grave threat to the security of J&K.
