Congress not to join cabinet, till statehood restored; JKPCC chief Karra

JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra, on Thursday, squarely rejected NC’s offer to join Omar’s cabinet
Congress had taken a principled stand not to join the government till the statehood is restored and its stand is unchanged, he told reporters in Reasi.
Taking to reporters after addressing an impressive joining programme here by District Congress Committee Reasi, Karra said that Congress can’t climb down from it’s principled stand of restoration of statehood and other constitutional rights, taken away from 1.40 crore people in order to join the government but quickly added that anytime BJP tries to disturb the stability of NC government, Congress will always be there.
He, however, said that Congress support to the NC government doesn’t mean that it will remain silent on the issues of governance and fulfilling the commitments to the people by the government.
On the issue of power hike, he said, Congress has already opposed burdening the common man who is already suffering.
Karra, rather, demanded that government should come out with a comprehensive amnesty scheme for power to give relaxations to the common man.
A number of new members also joined the Congress family, expressing their faith in the ideology, policies and leadership of the Indian National Congress.
