Crime Branch files chargesheet in job fraud case

Jammu, August 31:

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Crime Branch Jammu, has filed a chargesheet before the Court of Railway Magistrate, Jammu, against Jameel Anjum and his wife Sana Mir, both residents of Narania Mohalla, Kacchi Chawni, Jammu for allegedly cheating complainants by promising government jobs to their children and issuing fake appointment/adjustment orders.

The case, FIR No. 75/2023, was registered at Police Station Crime Branch (EOW), Jammu, on a complaint lodged by Naresh Kumar and Rajesh Kumar, alleging that the accused persons obtained Rs.15 lakh and Rs.3.19 lakh, respectively, on the pretext of arranging government jobs for their children and provided fake appointment orders to them.

During investigation, the seized documents were sent to FSL Jammu for examination. The FSL opinion supported the allegation that Jameel Anjum had forged and used the appointment documents as genuine to dishonestly induce the complainants on the false promise of government job.

On the basis of the evidence collected, the allegations were substantiated and the investigation was concluded with the filing of the chargesheet before the Court of Railway Magistrate against accused persons along with the list of witnesses and seized documents for judicial determination.

SSP Crime Branch EOW Jammu Faisal Qureshi, has advised to remain vigilant against such economic frauds and report any such incident to SSP Crime Branch EOW Jammu (Crime Branch, J&K).
