Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train to depart from Jammu on Nov 14

Jammu, September 2;

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has announced the launch of “Dakshin Bharat Yatra”, a special train to South India that would leave Jammu on November 14.

For the convenience of pilgrims, this 13-day spiritual journey will be organized through Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train, which will start from Jammu on November 14, said an official spokesperson.

This well-organized spiritual journey will provide devotees an opportunity to have darshan of some of the major and prestigious pilgrimage sites of the country in a single trip and to experience the rich religious and cultural heritage of India, he added.

Prepared with the aim of providing spiritual satisfaction along with a comfortable and convenient journey, this yatra presents a beautiful confluence of faith, tradition and hospitality through the reliable services of IRCTC.


During this journey, passengers will be blessed with Darshan of Shri Ramanathaswamy Temple at Rameswaram, Meenakshi Temple at Madurai, sightseeing of nearby places at Kanyakumari, Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple at Tirupati and Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga Temple at Markapur.


This train will provide boarding facility from Jammu, Pathankot Junction, Amritsar Junction, Jalandhar City, Ludhiana Junction, SAS Nagar Mohali, Chandigarh, Ambala Cantt, Kurukshetra Junction, Karnal, Panipat Junction, Sonipat Junction, Delhi Safdarjung, Mathura Junction, Agra Cantt, Gwalior Junction and Virangana Lakshmibai (Jhansi) stations.


The duration will be 12 nights / 13 days. The train will depart from Jammu on November 14 and return on November 26.


Three categories have been fixed for the convenience of passengers.

In SL (Economy) category, 480 seats are available with non-AC accommodation and transportation, the charge of which is Rs. 26,895.

In 3AC (Standard) category, 210 seats are available with AC accommodation, non-AC transportation and wash & change facility in non-AC rooms in budget hotels, the charge of which is Rs. 42,605.

In 2AC (Comfort) category, 50 seats are available with AC accommodation and transportation, the charge of which is Rs. 56,830.


This package includes confirmed train ticket, all meals in train and during the journey, comfortable accommodation on double/triple sharing basis, transfer by bus and sightseeing, onboard escort, housekeeping, security and paramedical assistance.
