CISF jawan runs amok, kills Asstt Commandant & SI among 4 colleagues

Kathua, September 29:

A CISF jawan ran amok and killed four colleagues including an assistant commandant and a sub inspector among four colleagues at a hydel power project in Kathua district on Tuesday evening, said officials.

“Today, a firing incident occurred among CISF personnel deployed at Sewa Project in Mashka, following an alleged altercation. In the incident, four CISF personnel sustained injuries and were shifted to NHPC Hospital in Himachal Pradesh, where all four subsequently succumbed to their injuries,” said Kathua district SSP Mohita Sharma.

The deceased personnel were identified as Assistant Commandant Ankit Kumar Pandey, SI Lakshman Singh, Constable Rafiq Ahmed
and Constable Sandeep Kumar.

The suspected accused has been identified as CISF personnel Abhidesh Singh and has been arrested .

Police reached the spot, and the area has been secured, she said.
