Jammu, Sept 17:- Former MLC and Senior Congress leader Mr Ravinder Sharma has urged the government to consider the genuine demands of agitating NRHM employees on a positive and sympathetic note without sitting on prestige in view of the problems being faced by the general public.

In a statement JKPCC Senior leader has expressed concern over the posture being adopted by the authorities of the government over the issue of agitating NRHM employees, whose demands are quite genuine and justified.

The government also feels that their demands are legitimate and need considerations but still insists for calling of the strike first. This precondition is not justified and reasonable and instead government should concede and accept their genuine demands in principle and then seek time to implement the assurance.

The NHM employees have rendered regular health services and performed their jobs like regular employees, so need to be regularised and paid equally on the settled principle of equal pay for equal work. The rigid approach of government is causing hardships and sufferings to the patients and general public, he added, hoping government to adopt positive approach.

He also appealed to the Hon’ble legislators to impress upon the governments of centre and UT to resolve the genuine issues and fulfill the legitimate demands of NRHM employees and also all other categories of temporary, adhoc contractual and daily wagers working for years on meagre salaries and wages without  complete employees protection  and facilities of service conditions.
